The things in the virtual world have real significance but only to an extent. People take it to far and act like the real world is not actually real. It is not okay for people to play video games more than they socialize in the real world. It is one of the best ideas ever though for the companies to sell products in the game for actually money. I do believe that the virtual world is becoming the new frontier though. There are too many people that play the games and use computers everyday for it not to catch on and become an all day thing. It will be especially easy for Americans to be the first to make it to this new frontier. It will just make things easier and easy is very attractive for a lot of people. I think it is sad though that it is coming to that. People are going to start forgetting the beauty of nature and take the outside world for granted and let it go to waste. I cannot see how people are content living on their computers and not maintaining a social life. I think that we are falling apart as a nation and everyone is growing distant from each other.

  1. I agree Jason. Last week I went mouton climbing, you can’t get that in any video game, or look out over the valleys around here. Technology makes our lives simpler but we are expected to be able to do more work now, since we have the internet at our finger tips. No longer is a trifold sufficient for a class presentation, you need a PowerPoint presentation of 30 slides with graphs, diagrams and visual aids in even less time then you had with a trifold. I know a lot of people who don’t act like the gamers that where in the Second Skin movie. I know a lot of people who would rather be outside hang with their friends going to a concert or playing some sport.

  2. it does seem like people like people are striving for the "easy" way out! No one wants to take the effort to be original! people are pathetic for playing games all day long instead of enjoying reality.

  3. I hope virtual world is not what the U.S is becoming into. However i agree that it is very easy in today's society to enter in this so called virtual world. Mostly every household in our country has a computer and internet access. I believe that many people enter these virtual worlds because they are a way to escape your stresses and problems in real life. But in fact you can not run from these, its just something you have to deal with. How real can a Virtual World be if you lose your computer and everything you own and are living on the streets without access to this virtual world?
